Speaker Bios
Dr. Warrier is the Director of the New York City Program of the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence. She is a co-founder of the first domestic violence program for South Asian women in the US, MANAVI, and the National Network to End Violence Against Immigrant Women; and she serves on the board of the Asian and Pacific Islander Institute on Domestic Violence. Dr. Warrier is keynote faculty for the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court judges on the implications of cultural and ethnicity in domestic violence. She has worked with various programs in the United Nations related to violence against women and trafficking. Her lectures and organizing work is international in scope. She has authored or co-authored X books and X articles; recently authoring "From Sensitivity to Competency: Clinical and Departmental Guidelines for Achieving Cultural Competency" and Cultural Considerations in Domestic Violence Cases: A National Judicial Education Curriculum for the Health and Judicial Education departments of the Family Violence Prevention Fund; "Achieving Effective Public Education in a Diverse Society: A Solutions Oriented Approach."
